Culture and Science Department
The Cultural and Scientific Department (SCAC) comprises of a team of 10 officers which is headed by Gilles Bonnevialle (Consul - Culture, Education & Science).
The SCAC promotes higher education and scientific research, the arts, culture, the French language and audiovisual arts in Hong Kong and Macau.
The SCAC organizes activities to promote excellence and French know-how through seminars, conferences, shows, exhibitions, festivals, missions of expertise, etc. It also implements and supports exchange and training programs, as well as projects of mutual interest.
The SCAC hosts and directs the branch office of CampusFrance in Hong Kong and organizes various activities to promote French Higher Education.
The SCAC has a regulatory authority over the French Centre for Research on Contemporary China (CEFC) and works with local private organizations, such as the Alliance Française de Hong Kong, the Alliance Française de Macao, and the French International School as the representative of the French government.
In France, Hong Kong and Macau, the partners of the SCAC are the ministries, universities, educational institutions, technical departments, government agencies and commissions, cultural institutions, foundations and private companies.
